- From this lengthy list, what are the three skills that you feel are the most important? I believe the most important skill has is communication and interpersonal skills. Because, if you are incapable of communicating effectively you could be forever talking apples and bananas with clients.
The next skill that ranks pretty high in my opinion, is psychological knowledge. Going to school and learning certain things gives us tools to be better equipped in the future. It is like having a guide, not simply showing up and feeling qualified. It would also give our clients a sense of comfort and confidence in us.
Lastly, I believe problem-solving skills are crucial not only career-wise but also in your day-to-day life.
Why do you believe that these are more important than some of the other skills on this list? I feel these are most important because you can be successful in any psychology field having just those three skills alone.
What steps can a person take to strengthen these skills as they prepare for their future career? You could take a class on communication or watch videos from a reliable source about productive communication. For psychological knowledge, aside from going to school, you could shadow someone as a volunteer to get more hands-on experience. There could be situations that our books do not cover, but by seeing a professional handle the situation you can take notes and even think about what you would do if that was your case. Now for problem-solving, I feel this happens naturally when situations occur. However, you have to purposefully look at good ways to solve whatever the case might be.
What steps do you plan to take to further build these skills in your own life? I am going to take a communication class, because I feel it will not only be beneficial for my career but also my everyday life. I think I would have a different view on things, and understand others better.

- I think that these three skills are the most important because being adaptable within the work environment is vital, employers value employees who manage to adapt to changes in the work environment. Also, the more adaptable you are, the more productive you will be overall. Problem-solving skills allow employees to analyze issues, recognize issue seriousness and evaluate the impact of alternative solutions. Develop problem solving skills helps employees to work more productively with coworkers and clients. Computer skills are important because they are highly applicable at the work environment and other ranges of life. Many employers prefer employees who have computer skills who can perform computer-aided assignments, such as sending a message by means of mail, graph data, create a report employing a spreadsheet and control information put away in a database.
- What steps can a person take to strengthen these skills as they prepare for their future career?
I think that adaptability is a skill that we all have, we always adapt to changes in our life, sometimes in a short time and other times in a long time, but in the end we always adapt. To strengthen your problem-solving skills, you can observe others solve problems. Read about troubleshooting techniques. Practice different methods of problem solving. A great way to improve your computer skills, is to start with the basics things to learn how to use a computer. You can enroll in a computer course. Also having computer skills can present a lot of opportunities.
- What steps do you plan to take to further build these skills in your own life?
I have always thought that adaptability is an ability that I have, I always adapt quickly to changes, it take me maximum a week to adapt when the change is very big. Many jobs require people with computer skills. To develop my computer skill I look for information on the internet. Right now taking online classes I am learning a lot. Two months ago I took a computer class and learned to use excel and database. To further develop my problem solving skills I think it is important to know why the problem arose and to consider all aspects of the situation. Developing this skill will allow me to find solutions to solve the problem quickly, also I always try to focus on the solutions not on the problem.
